Nephrology

Patient Services

Older patients and the chronically ill are well served by the Nephrology FPA approach to care. In collaboration with Mount Sinai’s nationally known Department of Geriatrics and the Hertzberg Institute of Palliative Care, the Division of Nephrology offers both a Geriatric Nephrology Program and the Renal Palliative Care Program to meet the complex needs of our rapidly growing older population with kidney problems.

We also specialize in providing state-of-the-art techniques for diagnosing and treating hypertension (high blood pressure) -– especially severe, or “refractory” cases -- including ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.

For patients presenting with end-stage disease, the physicians of Mount Sinai’s renowned Recanati-Miller Transplantation Institute are specialists in the evaluation and management of patients requiring kidney or pancreas transplants. We also manage the evaluation of potential organ donors for these patients.
